About Coral Connections

Coral Connections aims to increase understanding and awareness of the unprecedented threats facing corals and coral reefs.

DSC_0155At Synchronicity Earth, our goal is to highlight inspiring examples of coral reef conservation around the world and investigate alternative avenues of communication to increase global knowledge of what is happening to our coral reefs and our oceans. We are striving to understand what the science is telling us about the most effective, long-term strategies for coral conservation and restoration, how we can best support those organisations and collaborations which are having the most positive impact, and also to identify priority locations around the globe for coral reef protection and coral restoration initiatives.

In order to help channel much-needed funding towards projects that have proven to be effective, we need to understand what is working and what is not. A key objective of this site is to highlight and celebrate the work of people and projects that are inspiring real change, both in conserving and, where necessary restoring coral reef biodiversity, whether this is through conservation NGOs, local communities, committed individuals or a combination of all three.

Our goal is to build up this site in a spirit of open collaboration, sharing knowledge and ideas and helping to disseminate good practice and ultimately, to bring this work to the attention of policy-makers.

We are collaborating with several artists to create work around the theme of coral reefs to inspire supporters, donors and the general public to learn more and get involved.

We are very lucky to be working with some fantastic partners:
